The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Saturday 27 August 2022) at 08:17 UT.

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Sunday 28 August 2022 and in the Western Region will be on Sunday 28 August 2022. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

Not Seen: ICOP member Dr. Javad Torabinejad from Blacksburg City in virginia State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was very hazy, the crescent was not sought by naked eye, the crescent was not seen by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging
Dr. Javad Torabinejad said: "I arrived at my sighting location prior to sunset (apparent sunset: 7:52 pm).  The western horizon was partly cloudy and very hazy.  Right after sunset using a pair of binoculars (7X50), I started scanning the area where the moon was expected to be located according to the Stellarium software.  Later when the moon's position was closer to the horizon, I shifted to using 10x50 pairs of binoculars.  I continued my observations till 8:27 pm (moonset: 8:32 pm)."

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "The new crescent of Shafar 1444 AH was seen on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from Assalaam Observatory, at The Modern Boarding School of ASSALAAM, Pabelan Kartasura Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia.

All participants of the First Sekolah Lapang Hilal by BMKG and PPMI Assalaam join the moon observation."

Eng. Martin Elsaesser said: "On the day of conjunction the weather was not good enough here, but the day after had some clear skies during the day, so i observed the young crescent with a small imaging system with a small lens: Easily visible one hour after noon, high in the sky."

- The first sighting of the crescent moon: 20:11 minutes.
- The last sighting of the crescent: 20:15 minutes.
- The age of the moon at the moment of sighting; 1 day and 9 hours and 55 minutes.
- Moon phase: 2 percent.
- The position of the crescent moon at the moment of sighting; Height 7 degrees, direction 271 degrees.

- A set of chelastron 25 x 100 binoculars
- A set of 20 x 50 binoculars.
- A set of monocular camera 20*60.
- A military compass.
- A 5 watt green laser device.
- A mobile phone device to record images.

Observation summary:
*Atmospheric conditions were 80% covered with clouds until hours before the observation, and the amount of clouds decreased little by little, but in Maghrib, the sky was still partly cloudy up to 15 degrees.

* The first sighting of the crescent moon was seen at 20:11 at an altitude of 7 degrees, at a direction of 271 degrees by the 100 x 25 Chelstron binoculars.
This sighting lasted only four minutes and finally the crescent moon sank in the clouds at a height of about 6 degrees.
- The age of the moon at the time of sighting was 1 day, 9 hours and 55 minutes, and the brightness of the crescent moon was 2%.

Dr. Javad Torabinejad said: "I was at my sighting location by 7:19 pm EDT (apparent sunset: 7:50 pm and actual sunset: 7:58 pm).  The western horizon was partly cloudy and very hazy.  Using a pair of binoculars (7X50), soon I started looking for the crescent.  My first binocular sighting was at 7:51 pm.  It took me another 13 minutes to positively sight the moon at 8:04 pm with naked eye.  The horns were approximately at 2:00 and 6:30 O'clock (2:00;4:00;6:30).  I left the area at 8:43 pm when the moon was still up but very close to the horizon (moonset: 8:58 pm)."

Eng. Martin Elsaesser said: "On holiday at an italian beach i could observe the old crescent before sunset. I was not too hard to see with the naked eye, very easy and beautifull with a pair of binoculars.

In daytime i also succeeded with a small imaging system and a very small lens."
