When to Observe Ramadan Waxing (NEW) Crescent ?


The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Tuesday 21 March 2023) at 17:23 UT.

Sighting the new crescent on (Tuesday 21 March 2023) and (Wedensday 22 March 2023) is shown in the below graphs using the program Accurate Times by Mohammad Odeh according to Odeh criterion. Where:-

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Thursday 23 March 2023 and in the Western Region will be on Thursday 23 March 2023. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

Mr. Boubakur salem Menaceri said: "الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله أما بعد فتوفيقا من الله عز وجل تمت رؤية هلال شهر رمضان المبارك لهذه السنة 1444 في مساء يوم 22 مارس 2023 من الجزائر ولاية ورقلة وحالة الجو كان غائم جزئيا ولكن تمت الرؤية بالعين المجردة ،الآن ننتظر الإعلان الرسمي من طرف الدولة بأن غدا الخميس 23 مارس 2023 هو أول أيام شهر رمضان المبارك ،رمضان مبارك على جميع الأمة الإسلامية وكل عام وأنتم بألف خير."

عملا بسنة سيدنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم .. بتحري هلال شهر رمضان المبارك .. فقد تم بكل سهولة و بالعين المجردة رصد هلال رمضان لسنة 1444 الموافق لـ: 23 مارس 2023 .. بعد جلسة مساء الأربعاء 22 مارس 2023 دامت حوالي ساعة من الزمن تتوسطها صلاة المغرب بعد غروب الشمس تحت الأفق ..
.. حيث وفقنا الله لرؤية هلال رمضان بالعين المجردة بكل سهولة كما يظهر في  الصور الملتقطة عن طريق الكاميرا  NIKON D3100  و كذا كاميرا الهاتف .. و ذلك بعد صلاة المغرب على الساعة  19:11 .. ليغرب بعدها خلف جبل "قريون" على الساعة 19:30 ..
فاللهم أهله علينا بالأمن والإيمان، و السلامة و الإسلام، ربي وربك الله، هلال خير ورشد ..

خلاصة : يوم الخميس 23 مارس 2023م أول أيام شهر رمضان المبارك 1444 هـ في الجزائر، في انتظار ترقب و الرصد الفلكي للهلال رمضان في مناطق أخرى  ان شاء الله عبر العالم العربي الإسلامي فـــاللَّهُمَّ أهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالأَمْنِ والإيمَانِ، والسَّلامَةِ والإسْلاَمِ، والتَّوْفِيقِ لِمَا يُحبُّ ربُّنا ويَرْضَى.

Brunei Darussalam

Seen: ICOP member Mr. Hazarry Haji Ali Ahmad from Kuala Tutong City in Tutong State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was clear, the crescent was not seen by naked eye, the crescent was not sought by binocular, the crescent was seen by telescope, the crescent was seen by CCD Imaging
Mr. Hazarry Haji Ali Ahmad said: "Venus & Jupiter were clearly visible at sunset and were also used for telescope alignment.

The 17-hour old Ramadan new moon crescent was sighted in Brunei Darussalam at 6:50pm (or20 minutes after sunset). The holy month begins on March 24, 2023 in Brunei."



Egypt

Germany


1 . Time of observation: After sunset. Seen: ICOP member Mr. Samy Khadem-Al-Charieh from Munich City in Bavaria State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was clear, the crescent was not seen by naked eye, the crescent was seen by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging
Mr. Samy Khadem-Al-Charieh said: "We were a group of about 15 persons on the Olympia mountain in Munich. Unfortunately there were light cloud strips and a little haze near the western horizon. At least 5 of us could see the Crescent through the binocular, but no one could spot it with naked eye. On the attached photo the red arrow points to the Crescent and the green one shows Jupiter."

Eng. Martin Elsaesser said: "Weather conditions were ok today, with blue skies but high cirrus clouds. I observed the crescent with the old imaging system some 90 minutes before noon. The crescent was easily visible but i had to rotate the camera to some weird angle to make the full crescent fit into the small field of view.
I hope to be able to do some visual observation later in the afternoon and after sunset.

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "Bismillaah...

The new crescent of Ramadhan 1444 AH was NOT SIGHTED on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from Assalaam Observatory, Pabelan Kartasura Sukoharjo Central Java Indonesia, the west sky was covered by thick clouds. The crescent was  seen from several places in Indonesia via telescope. According to this report, on Ithbat Council by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia declare that 1 Ramadhan 1444 AH will start on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023.

Mr. Simwal  Jibril said: "The crescent was sighted in various locations in Nigeria and His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto has declared Thursday 23rd March as the 1st Ramadan "



Oman


1 . Time of observation: After sunset. Seen: ICOP member Prof. Mohammed Al-Bussaidi from Al-Khoudh City in Muscat State mentioned that the sky was clear, the atmospheric condition was clear, the crescent was not sought by naked eye, the crescent was not sought by binocular, the crescent was seen by telescope, the crescent was seen by CCD Imaging
Prof. Mohammed Al-Bussaidi said: "The Crescent Moon was sighted immediately after sunset. It was sighted by using the telescope with and without cc'd camera"

Mundhir AlShibani from Muscat City in Wilayat Bosher State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was clear, the crescent was not seen by naked eye, the crescent was not seen by binocular, the crescent was not seen by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging
Eng. Mundhir AlShibani said: "Crescent Visibility Result for Ramadan 1444 (29th of Shaban, Wednesday 22nd March 2023)

The observation took place in Muscat, the observation started before Sunset until Moonset @ 17:07 UTC+4. Weather was pleasant around 26dC, with relative humidity at 54%, Winds at around 1km/h. The crescent was seen by others, however I was not able to sight from my location due to the clouds at the west horizon. Planets Venus and Jupiter were visible by telescope as well by naked eyes. Perhaps I was able to see a glimpse of the Crescent light for a moment, but I will take that as a negative result as no one was near me to observe and confirm. Anyway, Ramdhan kareem "

وهذا الهلال هو ابن 23 ساعة ( يوما كاملا تقريبا ) بالنسبة لبلادنا ورؤيته هكذا تكون في العادة 
فما ظنكم بكبر هلال إكمال العدة الذي يجب أن يكون أكبر  
(وع العلم أن  تاريخ هذا  اليوم الأربعاء بالصحيح هو التاسع والعشرون وليس ثلاثين )"

Dr. Belal Alshammaa said: "وقد شاركني في هذا الرصد صديقي المهندس سامر الجودي (مطور تطبيق "ميقات" لحساب مواقيت الصلوات والأهلة واتجاه القبلة بالاستعانة بأجرام القبة السماوية) وقد تمكن من رؤيته بعينه المجردة؛ لكني شخصيًا لم أتمكن من رؤية الهلال بعني المجردة حيث كان الأفق الغربي ضبابيًا نوعًا ما؛ وقد رأيناه بالاستعانة بمنظار 8×42 حيث كان الهلال أسفل كوكب المشتري الذي تمكنا من رؤيته بالعين المجردة وإلى الأيسر (الجنوب) قليلًا. وقد كانت أول رؤية للهلال من خلال الكاميرة الموصولة بالمرقب 6 إنش وقت غروب الشمس تمامًا؛ والصور المرفقة إلتقطت بعد الغروب بحوالي نصف ساعة"
