When to Observe Dhul Qeadah Waxing (NEW) Crescent ?


The geocentric conjunction (Geocentric New Moon) will occur Inshalla on (Sunday 21 June 2020) at 06:41 UT.

Sighting the new crescent on (Sunday 21 June 2020) and (Monday 22 June 2020) is shown in the below graphs using the program Accurate Times by Mohammad Odeh according to Odeh criterion. Where:-

According to the Universal Hejric Calendar (UHC), which is based on the calculated crescent visibility, the start of this month in the Eastern Region will be on Tuesday 23 June 2020 and in the Western Region will be on Monday 22 June 2020. Kindly notice that the UHC is a pre-calculated calendar, which adopts a certain criterion to start the new Hejric month. Your country/organization might adopt different criterion to start the new Hejric month. So it is highly advised to read the UHC website before giving any judgment.

Mr. Amine Khouya said: "قمت يوم الأحد 29 شوال 1441 هـ موافق 21 يونيو 2020 م. بتحري هلال شوال بعد مغيب الشمس  في الأفق الغربي لمدينة ارفود إقليم الرشيدية ، صراحة لم يكن من السهل رؤية الهلال بالعين المجردة بسبب وجود ضباب او غبار في الأفق الغربي فتعذر علي رؤية الهلال بالعين المجردة ."

Dr. Javad Torabinejad said: "I arrived at my sighting location at 8:40 pm EDT (sunset: 8:45 pm).  Using two pairs of binoculars (7X50 and 10X50; mostly the latter), I started scanning a partly cloudy and very hazy west-northwestern horizon with no success.  I ended the session at 9:20 pm (moonset: 9:23 pm)."

Eng. Martin Elsaesser said: "Only small gaps in the clouds and a bad forecast for the evening forced daytime observation in the afternoon. The wide crescent was easily seen with the video system, i should have tried to see it through the telescope. The image is upside down. "

The daytime crescent of Thulkeadah 1441 AH was seen by CCD on Computerized 70mm Telescope, from MAN 1 Surakarta on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 15 minutes before sun setting.

Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "Bismillaah...

The new crescent of Thulkeadah 1441 AH was seen from Assalaam Observatory by mr. Taufiq Hidayat and from MAN 1 Surakarta by me and teachers on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 20 minutes after sun setting.

The moon was not seen by naked eye because the sky was partly cloudy and hazy.

The 1st of Thulkeadah 1441 AH in Indonesia will start on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

Eng. Qamar Uddin said: "I went to my sighting location well before sunset but it was partly cloudy and the sunset was almost close to the horizon. I waited almost an hour until nearly moonset time, but unfortunately, the thick dark bank of clouds above the sunset position didn’t move away so the Hilal was not seen. I am pleased to hear many people in the Midlands and Greater London area have seen it, Alhamdulillah"

1 . Time of observation: After sunset. Dr. Javad Torabinejad said: "I arrived at my sighting location at 8:32 pm EDT (sunset: 8:46 pm; apparent sunset: 8:36 pm).  The western horizon was partly cloudy and very hazy.  Using a pair of binoculars (7X50), I started scanning the horizon.  My first binocular sighting of the crescent was at 8:45 pm followed by naked eye sighting at 8:46 pm.  The horns were approximately at 2:00 and 7:00 O'clock (2:00;4:30;7:00).  At 9:44 pm, the moon was about two degrees above the horizon and visible (moonset: 10:17 pm)."

Not Seen: ICOP member Mr. Abdellatif Fareh from كوينين City in الوادي State mentioned that the sky was clear, the atmospheric condition was very hazy, the crescent was not sought by naked eye, the crescent was not seen by binocular, the crescent was not sought by telescope, the crescent was not sought by CCD Imaging
Mr. Abdellatif Fareh said: "قام النادي الفلكي بكوينين صبيحة اليوم السبت 28 شوال بمحاولة رصد هلال آخر هذا الشهر، السماء كانت صافية إلا أن الأفق الشرقي كان مغبرا، و رغم استعمال المنظار إلا أننا لم نتمكن من رؤية الهلال."

Seen: ICOP member Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi from Surakarta City in Central Java State mentioned that the sky was partly cloudy, the atmospheric condition was clear, the crescent was seen by naked eye, the crescent was seen by binocular, the crescent was seen by telescope, the crescent was seen by CCD Imaging
Mr. AR Sugeng Riyadi said: "The old waning crescent of Shawwal 1441 AH was seen from Rowasiya Observatory at Bendo Ketitang Juwiring Klaten Central Java Indonesia on Saturday, June 20, 2020."

Mr. Hatim El Harrak said: "راقبت صباح اليوم 20 يونيو 2020 هلال آخر شهر شوال من مدينة طنجة ولم يرى الهلال لا بالعين المجردة ولا بالكاميرا ذات العدسة 70-300
لكن تم رؤية الهلال أمس 19يونيو 2020  بالعين المجردة وبالكاميرا وهو آخر هلال يرى عندنا من المغرب وخاصة في طنجة
والصور الخاصة بهلال آخر شهر شوال 1441 هـ يوم أمس سوف أرفقها مع الموضوع "
