   Illumination                    =    0.8  percent

I was NOT able to see the crescent, even through a telescope.

Thinking that the crescent would be easily visible, I did not
aim the telescope, but I am pretty sure that the field of view of the finder held the image. However, the image did not reveal itself to me through the 9x50 finder scope, nor the 55x eyepiece while scanning the area.

   Illumination                    =   0.48  percent

I was NOT able to see the crescent, even through a telescope.

Everything was good, except the humidity. Aiming and focus was spot on, and I expected to see the crescent, if not immediately, then as soon as it rose above the murk, at maybe 10 degrees. However, no image formed that lasted more than a second, until after the sun rose. Then only for two seconds. They must have been due to some kind of internal reflection.
